스무 살 대학생 이준경은 자신만의 음악으로 성공한다는 꿈을 가지고 있다. 하지만 프로듀서들에게 곡을 보내도 매번 거절당하기만 한다. 도대체 무엇이 문제인 걸까. 마지막 희망을 안고 등록금과 월세를 털어 싼값에 녹음실을 얻은 준경.

그러나 싼값에는 역시 이유가 있는 법. 녹음실에 귀신이 살고 있었다. ‘녹음실 귀신’으로 유명한 백 스무살 양연지. 노래를 좋아해 가수가 되는 것이 꿈이었던 연지는 스무 살이 되던 해, 그 꿈을 이루기 전 갑작스럽게 요절했다.

한편, 일본에서 온 유학생이자 준경과 같은 밴드 멤버인 하루에게는 원래 귀신을 볼 수 있는 능력이 있다. 하루는 녹음실에서 연지를 보고 놀라지만 곧 다정하게 대해준다.

힘들게 얻은 녹음실이건만 귀신이라니, 준경은 연지가 달갑지 않다. 그러나 하루와 연지가 다정한 모습을 보니, 왠지 모르게 질투가 나는 것도 같고, 기분이 이상하다. 이런 준경을 짝사랑하는 같은 밴드 멤버 세정. 세정은 달라진 준경 때문에 마음이 초조하다. 표정도 밝아지고 웃는 일도 많아졌지만 딱히 누구와 만나는 것 같지는 않은데…. 알고 보니 그 상대가 귀신이었다.

꿈과 사랑, 그리고 청춘. 그들의 이야기는 과연 어떻게 흘러갈 것인가?

이준경/김상균
대학생이자 작곡가인 준경. 준경은 자신의 음악으로 성공하겠다는 꿈을 가지고 있다. 그러나 좋은 곡을 만드는 것은 쉽지 않다. 어렵게 얻은 녹음실에서 준경은 귀신인 연지를 만난다. 처음 그는 연지가 달갑지 않아 쌀쌀맞게 굴지만 결국 어쩔 수 없이 지박령인 연지와 동거를 하게 되고, 곧 그녀와 사랑에 빠진다.

하루/켄타
일본 유학생. 준경과 세정, 승현과 같은 밴드 멤버다. 귀신을 보는 능력이 있다. 발랄하고 다정한 성격의 하루는 연지를 살갑게 챙겨준다. 덕분에 본의 아니게 준경의 질투를 유발한다. 눈치가 빠르고 준경과는 달리 연애에 대해서도 잘 안다. 의미심장한 캐릭터.

양연지/한지선
녹음실에 사는 지박령. 이름이 적힌 레코드판에 매여 있다. 귀엽고 해맑은 성격이며 노래를 좋아한다. 매우 아름다운 목소리를 가지고 있으며 가수가 되고 싶었지만 꿈을 이루기 직전 요절하여 이승을 떠나지 못하였다. 녹음실을 얻은 준경과 동거하며 점점 좋아하는 감정이 싹튼다. 그러나 인간인 세정을 보며 자기보다는 세정이 준경이 더 잘 어울릴 것 같다고 속상해한다.
준경과 하루의 도움으로 꿈을 이뤄 성불할 기회를 얻었지만 오랜만에 살아있다는 기분을 느끼게 해준 그들과 헤어지고 싶지는 않다.

박세정/김홍경
준경, 하루와 같은 밴드 멤버. 준경을 짝사랑하고 있다. 준경이 자신의 마음을 알아주는 줄 알고 착각하지만 준경이 좋아하는 사람은 귀신이라는 사실을 알고 난 후 충격을 받는다. 열심히 챙겨주는 데도 불구하고 자신은 안중에도 없고 연지에게 빠진 준경이 야속하다.

승현/이경우
준경, 하루와 같은 밴드 멤버. 눈에 보이지 않는 것은 믿지 않아 밴드 멤버들의 연지에 관한 이야기가 다 자신을 놀리는 것이라고 생각한다. 유머러스하고 활발한 성격.
