First of all, INTRO, which drew attention by releasing an intense teaser video, is a song that shows off the colors of members Lee Hangyul and Nam Dohyon, and Nam Dohyon participated in writing the lyrics, drawing attention.

The first title song 'SOUL' is an attractive song with an intense beat with a sense of speed. H&D(이한결, 남도현)이 첫 번째 미니앨범 ‘SOULMATE’로 화려한 비상을 꿈꾼다.

H&D의 이번 첫 번째 미니앨범 ‘SOULMATE’는 이한결, 남도현이 다양한 장르를 담아 색다른 모습을 보여주기 위해 총 10곡을 수록했고 더블 타이틀 곡으로 화려한 비상을 시작한다.

먼저 강렬한 티저영상을 공개해 화제를 모은 INTRO는 멤버 이한결, 남도현 각자의 색깔이 돋보이는 곡으로 멤버 남도현이 작사에 참여해 눈길을 끌었고 남도현의 랩 메이킹은 물론 이한결의 퍼포먼스까지 더해져 보는 재미를 더했다.

첫 번째 타이틀 곡 ‘SOUL’은 속도감 있는 강렬한 비트가 매력적인 노래로 중저음과 고음을 넘나드는 이한결의 섬세한 보컬과 남도현의 거칠고 시크한 음색이 쉴 틈 없는 몰입감을 선사해 중독성 있는 곡이다. 또 세련된 멜로디 라인 위에 H&D의 퍼레이드로 남성미 넘치는 에너지가 돋보이는 팝 댄스 곡이다.

두 번째 타이틀 곡 ‘GOOD NIGHT’은 “혼자라는 고독함이 무거워 하늘을 보는 날이 드물어 숨만 쉬는 하루”라는 가사가 현실에 지친 일상을 빗대어 표현되었고 “무얼 위해 여기까지 왔을까”라는 가사말로 공감을 불러일으키는 곡으로 지친 일상 속에 잠자는 일조차 힘든 사람들에게는 자장가로 또 위로를 받고 싶은 이들에게는 위로를 해주는 곡으로 이한결, 남도현의 따듯한 목소리가 돋보이는 곡이다.

앞서 팬들을 위해 선공개 하며 화제를 모은 남도현의 자작곡 ‘낯설어’는 계절이 바뀌고 시간이 지나면서 문득 느껴지는 이별의 향수를 담은 곡으로 가사말이 인상적이다. 특히 미디엄 템포의 알앤비 발라드 장르로 듣는 이들의 귀를 사로 잡았다.
