2001년 7월 [Modern Rhymes] EP 의 발매를 계기로 한국의 힙합음악은 저개발 상태를 벗어나서
유턴이 불가능한 길로 들어섰다. 어설프게 구성된 리듬과 라임, 그리고 어설픈 문장력으로
단지 "빠르게 말을 하던" 상당수의 래퍼들은 이 기념비적인 음반이 발표된 이후로 설 자리를 점차 잃어갔다.
Verbal Jint 는 이전까지 한글로는 불가능하다고 여겨졌던 미국 수준의 라임/플로우의 구성,
그와 동시에 흐트러지지 않는 문장력을 직접 작곡한 7개의 혁명적인 트랙들을 통해 증명해 보였던 것이다.
[Modern Rhymes] EP 가 보여준 한글 랩의 청사진은 수 년의 세월이 흐른 지금까지도
한글로 랩을 하는 프로와 아마추어 래퍼들 대다수에게 그 직간접적인 영향을 끼치고 있으며
당시 Verbal Jint 에 대한 반감을 표하던 뮤지션들마저
결과적으로는 그의 방법론에 크게 영향을 받았음을 부정할 수 없다.

2001년 당시 MPC2000XL로 작업했던 비트들을 사용, '80 Seasons'와 '20 Summers' 라는
제목의 기념곡들을 발표하기로 하였다.
특히 '20 Summers'는 [Modern Rhymes XX]를 CD로 소장하고자 하는 애호가들만을 위한 보너스 트랙으로
온라인 버전에는 포함되지 않은 선물이라고 한다.
