[Nostalgia], which means nostalgia for something missed, is an extension of [May Love] released last year, and is an album that continues the vague and lyrical atmosphere. In this album, we tried new and sophisticated genres that VICTON did not show, including the title song 'Nostalgic Night', and improved the perfection of the album by showing the capabilities of each member to the maximum.

The title song of the 5th mini album [nostalgia], 'Nostalgic Night' is a song by BXN, who boasts the best chemistry with Victon, from Victon's debut song 'Pretend Nothing' to 'Nonsense', and member Heo Chan, who participated in composing for the first time. In order to draw an emotional yet powerful dual element in 'Nostalgic Night', a future-like synth was added to the slow beat of the Trap BPM, and the emotional pad and guitar created a perfect harmony. 'Nostalgic night', which means the 'night' that I miss you and the 'night' that I miss you and me at the same time, expresses a night full of longing, loneliness, and nostalgia for the past with calm and earnest lyrics. 그리운 어떤 것에 대한 향수를 의미하는 【nostalgia】는 작년 발매된 【오월애(俉月哀)】의 연장선으로, 아련하고 서정적인 분위기를 이어가는 앨범이다. 이번 앨범에는 타이틀곡 ‘그리운 밤’을 포함해 기존 빅톤(VICTON)이 보여주지 않았던 새롭고 세련된 장르들을 시도하였으며, 멤버 개개인의 역량을 최대로 보여주어 음반의 완성도를 높였다.

미니 5집 【nostalgia】의 타이틀곡 ‘그리운 밤’은 빅톤의 데뷔곡 ‘아무렇지 않은 척’부터 ‘말도 안돼’까지 빅톤과는 최상의 케미를 자랑하는 BXN과 처음으로 작곡에 참여한 멤버 허찬의 곡이다. ‘그리운 밤’ 안에 감성적이면서도 파워풀한 이중적인 요소를 그려내기 위해 Trap BPM의 느린 비트에 퓨처 느낌의 신스가 더해졌으며, 감성적인 패드와 기타로 완벽한 조화를 이루어 내었다. 네가 그리운 ‘밤’과 그리운 너와 나의 ‘밤’이라는 뜻을 동시에 의미하고 있는 ‘그리운 밤’은 극심한 아픔의 그리움과 외로움, 과거에 대한 향수로 가득한 밤을 덤덤하고 절절한 가사로 풀어내었으며, 도한세의 랩으로 서정적인 느낌이 더해져, 완벽한 곡이 완성되었다.
