BTS releases their 2nd regular album 'WINGS'. Having reached the most beautiful moment of their lives through the 'When My Love Blooms' series, BTS left behind the past and once again stood in front of a new door. 'WINGS', which will be released on October 10th, is a song of boys who are troubled and conflicted by facing temptation for the first time in their lives. The appearance of the seven boys repeating pain and joy is reminiscent of the wings of birds waking up from their eggs and trying to fly.

The title song 'Blood Sweat & Tears' is a song of the Moombahton Trap genre that is gaining popularity in the pop market around the world. The lyrics, such as "Take my blood, sweat and tears," which means everything to me, or "the poisoned chalice that I knew but swallowed" clearly reveal the confused mind of the boy who fell into an irresistible temptation. It well expresses the main theme of the entire 'WINGS' album, which sang about the process of growth, such as the shadow of evil that one must encounter at least once in life and conflicts with others and the outside world.

The boys who met Temptation changed radically from head to toe. 9월 공개된 쇼트필름의 첫 주인공 정국의 솔로곡이다. 쇼트필름에 삽입된 멤버들의 솔로곡 중 가장 먼저 공개됐다. Future R&B와 Tropical House가 적절히 결합돼 몽환적이고 신비로운 분위기를 조성한다. ‘아무것도 없던 열다섯의 나’, ‘형들이 있어 감정이 생겼어 나 내가 됐어’ 등 가사에는 방탄소년단 멤버들과의 첫 만남에 대한 정국의 감정선이 진솔하게 표현되어 있다. 7명 멤버들의 솔로곡 중 가장 트렌디하면서도 유니크한 느낌을 주는 곡으로, 정국의 섬세하고 감성적인 보컬이 돋보인다.

5. Stigma
Neo Soul 스타일의 뷔의 솔로곡이다. 프로듀서 필터(Philtre)의 프로듀싱을 통해 진중하면서도 세련된 느낌의 곡으로 탄생했다. 자신의 잘못으로 누군가에게 상처를 주었다는 죄책감, 그리고 이것이 낙인이 되어 끊임없이 고통 받는 이야기가 담겨 있다. 묵직한 피아노와 임팩트 있는 브라스 섹션이 감각적인 레이드 백(Laid Back) 리듬과 조화롭게 어우러진다. 중저음과 가성 사이를 오가는 뷔의 허스키한 보컬이 곡의 감상 포인트이다.

스페셜 앨범 ‘화양연화 Young Forever’에서 프로듀서로서의 첫 역량을 보여준 Rap Monster가 새롭게 프로듀싱한 PBR&B 힙합 곡이다. 심플한 비트 위에 얹혀진 몽환적인 신스 사운드가 귀를 사로잡는다. 도입부에는 Rap Monster가 자주 찾는 뚝섬에서 직접 녹음한 앰비언스가 삽입돼 공감대를 형성한다. 강렬한 래핑을 주로 들려주던 Rap Monster는 이번 곡에서 천천히 읊조리는 듯한 래핑으로 멜로디컬하면서도 빈티지한 곡의 분위기를 극대화했다.

방탄소년단의 초창기 시절을 떠올리게 하는 ‘21세기 소녀’는 방탄소년단만의 파워풀한 에너지와 위트가 넘치는 힙합 곡이다. 21세기를 살아가고 있는 우리는 모두 아름답고 소중하며 사랑 받을 자격이 있는 사람이라는 긍정적인 메시지를 담고 있다. 파트마다 사운드의 변화를 준 덕에 지루함을 느낄 틈이 없어 순식간에 곡이 끝나 버리는 듯한 경험을 하게 만든다.

14. 둘! 셋! (그래도 좋은 날이 더 많기를)
데뷔 4년차에 접어든 방탄소년단이 팬들에게 전하는 팬송이다. ‘둘! 셋!’은 2013년 6월 데뷔 이후 지금까지 써오고 있는 인사 전 구호로, 방탄소년단과 팬들을 연결하는 특별한 의미를 가지고 있기도 하다. ‘둘! 셋!’에는 함께 겪었던 지난 날들에 대한 이야기와 언제나 큰 힘을 주는 팬들에게 미처 다 전하지 못했던 진심이 담겨 있다. 사용된 악기와 리듬 등 모든 것이 화려하지는 않지만 그 어떤 곡보다 따뜻한 마음이 느껴지는 곡으로, 팬들을 향한 방탄소년단의 사랑을 확인할 수 있다.

15. Interlude : Wings
그 동안 방탄소년단이 한 번도 들려준 적 없는 하우스 그루브를 기반으로 한 힙하우스(Hip House) 장르의 곡이다. 자기 자신에 대한 강한 믿음과 앞으로 나아가고자 하는 소년들의 굳은 의지를 날개에 빗대어 표현했다. 앨범의 마지막 곡이지만 앞으로 방탄소년단이 보여줄 음악적 변화를 예고하는 곡으로써 그룹의 다음 행보와 미래에 대한 기대감을 불러일으킨다.
