Description (Translated):

The group Uptown began their first broadcast activities in December 1996 with “Meet Me Again” as their title song.

The group was created after a long recording period of more than two and a half years.
The original member of Uptown at the time was a composer and producer.
They were Yeonjun Jeong (male main vocalist), Carlos (high tone rapper), Steve (bass tone rapper), and Mirae Yoon (female vocalist & rapper).
Afterwards, for Uptown's 5th album My Style, Yoon Mi-rae was replaced by "Jessie" as a female member.

This new album of Uptown is a selection of high-quality songs among the hit songs composed by Yeonjun Jeong.
Completeness was added through remake or remaster,
“Back to Analog” was added as a new song and title song and was released as “Uptown’s Best Album.”

This album started in earnest in 2021, when Uptown celebrated its 25th anniversary.
Although the album name was used as "25th Anniversary Album", it is actually Uptown's 27th Anniversary Commemorative Album.

In 1996, the title song of Uptown's first album was "Meet Me Again", a hip-hop song based on a funky sound.

This Back to Analog, 27 years later, excludes cold virtual instruments and digital sounds as much as possible.
It is an "original funky" song that reduces the proportion of rap and increases the proportion of vocals compared to existing Uptown songs.

In this era where you can compose, mix, and release music with just a computer, among the countless new songs that come out like a flood every day,
This is an album that took over two years of work to preserve the producer's musical beliefs and perfection, while putting great effort into creating a warm, humane, original funky sound.

This new song, Back to Analog, is an arrangement in which the bass line and funky guitar performance lead the overall sound.
The bass performance was recorded by "Alex Al", the world's best bass player, known as Michael Jackson's bass player.
The guitar was played by a famous American guitarist named "Dave Foreman" who has played guitar for world-renowned singers such as Bruno Mars, Snoop Dogg, R-Kelly, Boyz to Man, DJ Quik...

This Uptown album, which is recognized as having a particularly good sound, excludes cold virtual instruments and digital sounds as much as possible.
He is confident that his ears will not hurt or get tired even if he listens to it countless times and listens to all the songs over and over again.

그룹 업타운은 96년12월부터 "다시 만나줘" 를 타이틀곡으로, 첫 방송 활동을 시작했다.

2년반 이상의 긴 녹음 기간을 거쳐 탄생된 그룹인
당시 업타운의 원년멤버는 작곡가 겸 프로듀서
정연준(남자메인보컬), 까를로스(High tone Rapper), 스티브(Bass tone Rapper), 윤미래(여자보컬 & 래퍼) 였고,
이후 업타운 5집 My Style때 윤미래 대신 "제시"로 여자멤버가 교체되었다.

이번 업타운 신보는 그동안 정연준이 작곡한 힛트곡들 중, 완성도 높은 곡들을 위주로 직접 선정하여,
리메이크 또는 리마스터를 통해 완성도를 더하였고,
신곡이자 타이틀곡으로 "Back to Analog"를 추가하여 "업타운 베스트 앨범"으로 발표되는 형식이다.

이번 앨범은 업타운 25주년이 되던, 21년부터 본격적인 앨범 작업을 시작했기 때문에,
"25주년 기념앨범" 이란 앨범명칭을 쓰게 되었으나, 사실은 업타운 27주년 기념앨범 인 셈이다.

96년 당시 업타운의 1집 타이틀곡은 "다시 만나줘"라는 펑키한 사운드를 기반으로 한 힙합 음악이었다.

27년이 지난 이번 Back to Analog는 차가운 가상악기나 디지털 사운드를 최대한 배제,
기존 업타운 곡들보다 랩의 비중을 줄이고 보컬의 비중을 늘린 "오리지널 펑키"곡 이다.

이제 컴퓨터만 있으면 작곡하고 믹싱하고 음원 발표할수 있게 된 이 시대에, 매일 홍수처럼 쏟아져 나오는 수많은 신곡들 사이에서,
2년이상의 작업으로 프로듀서의 음악적 소신과 완성도를 지켜가며, 따뜻하고 인간적인 오리지널 펑키 사운드를 구현해 내기위해 심혈을 기울인 앨범이다.

이번 신곡 Back to Analog는 Bass 라인과 Funky한 Guitar 연주가 전체 사운드를 이끌고 있는 편곡인데,
Bass 연주는 마이클잭슨의 Bass연주자로 알려진 세계 최고의 베이스주자 인 "Alex Al" 이 녹음했고,
Guitar는 Bruno mars, Snoop Dogg, R-Kelly, Boyz to Man, DJ Quik...등 세계적인 가수들의 Guitar를 연주해온 "Dave Foreman" 이란 미국의 유명한 기타리스트가 연주를 담당했다

특별히 사운드가 좋기로 인정받는 이번 업타운 앨범은, 차가운 가상악기나 디지털 사운드를 최대한 배제하였기 때문에,
수없이 반복해 듣고, 전곡을 계속 들어도 귀가 아프거나 질리지 않을것을 자신한다고 한다.
