In March 2018, Mamamoo announced the start of the 'Four Seasons Four Colors Project'. The project's first album [Yellow Flower]'s title song <Starry Night> swept the top spot on various music sites, followed by the title song "You and I" of the second [RED MOON], both domestically and on the Billboard charts. The group successfully wrapped up their activities with great love, ranking at the top of overseas charts, including . And now, when I want to hold on to the passing short fall a little longer, I return with the [BLUE;S] album that will soothe listeners' regrets and moisten their emotions.

The third project album was completed as [BLUE;S] by adding member Solar's color 'BLUE' and 'S' from SOLAR. Blue is often thought of as a symbol of freedom and hope, but this album captures the cold, silent sadness and depression behind it.

The title song <Wind flower> is a song that shows another fantastic collaboration between Mamamoo's album general producer and unrivaled hit composer Kim Do-hoon and Mamamoo's close producer Park Woo-sang. 'Wind flower (anemone)' in the language of flowers means 'sad feelings after a breakup'. Among the many emotions one feels after breaking up with a loved one, the song sings of the will to erase and overcome the painful heart with lyrics that seem to blow away even the memories of being together with the wind.

[BLUE;S] starts with the seasonal <Autumn to Winter> following the intro <Winter to Spring> of the last [Yellow Flower] album, and the impressive melody full of tension and Mamamoo's powerful vocals are like a piece of music. < No more drama >, reminiscent of a drama, and < HELLO >, a self-composed song, were included as it is an album by 'Solar'. Track 4. HELLO (Solo Solar)
The second self-composed song by Mamamoo's leader Solar. This song, which has a very deep meaning for herself, was completed by adding a melody to the lyrics "Hello, again, us" that Solar suddenly came up with. It is a song that stands out with Solar's delicate and mournful tone, and the unique composition in which the first and second verses speak from different positions draws a very different emotional line between lovers.

Track 5. Better than I thought
Rather than the pain, emptiness, and loneliness that will come after breaking up with a lover, it is a story about accepting a breakup calmly, peacefully, and calmly. 2018년 3월 ‘포시즌 포컬러 프로젝트’의 시작을 알린 마마무. 그 프로젝트의 첫 번째 앨범 [Yellow Flower]의 타이틀곡 <별이 빛나는 밤>을 통해 각종 음원 사이트 1위를 휩쓸었고, 이어 두 번째 [RED MOON]의 타이틀곡 <너나 해>로 국내는 물론, 빌보드를 포함한 해외 차트 상위권에 랭크할 정도로 큰 사랑을 받으며 활동을 성공적으로 마무리했다. 그리고 지나가는 짧은 가을을 조금 더 잡아두고 싶어지는 지금, 리스너들의 아쉬움을 달래고 감성을 촉촉하게 적셔줄 [BLUE;S] 앨범으로 돌아온다.

세 번째 프로젝트 앨범은 멤버 솔라의 컬러 ‘BLUE’와 SOLAR에서 따온 ‘S’를 더해 [BLUE;S]로 완성되었다. 흔히 파란색을 자유와 희망의 상징으로 먼저 떠올리기도 하지만, 이번 앨범은 그 이면에 있는 차갑고 고요한 슬픔과 우울함을 담았다.

타이틀 곡 < Wind flower >는 마마무의 앨범 총괄 프로듀서이자 독보적인 히트 작곡가 김도훈과 마마무 단짝 프로듀서인 박우상이 또 한 번 환상적인 호흡을 보여주는 곡이다. ‘이별 후의 슬픈 감정’을 뜻하는 꽃말의 'Wind flower(아네모네)'. 사랑하는 연인과의 이별 후 느끼는 수많은 감정 중 쓸쓸함과 아련함, 더 나아가 함께했던 기억조차 바람과 함께 날려버리려는 듯한 가사로 아픈 마음을 지우고 이겨내겠다는 의지를 노래하고 있다.

[BLUE;S]는 지난 [Yellow Flower] 앨범의 인트로 <겨울에서 봄으로>에 이어 계절에 맞춘 <가을에서 겨울로>를 시작으로, 긴장감 넘치는 인상적인 멜로디와 마마무의 파워풀한 보컬이 마치 한 편의 드라마를 연상케 하는 < No more drama >, 그리고 ‘솔라’의 앨범인 만큼 자작곡 < HELLO >가 수록되었다. 그 외에도 연인과의 이별을 담담하게 이야기 하고 있는 < 생각보단 괜찮아(Better than I thought) >와 혼자 아침을 맞으며 느끼는 슬픔을 잔잔하면서 포근한 스트링 사운드에 녹여 표현한 < Morning >까지 앨범 명과 어울리는 감성적이고 글루미한 무드의 곡들로 가득 채워졌다.

< Wind flower >의 뮤직비디오에서 멤버들은 때론 슬퍼하기도, 때론 아무렇지 않아 보이는 모습으로 춤추고 노래하기도 하며 이별의 후유증을 표현하고 있다. ‘wind flower’의 이별에 대한 다양한 꽃말들처럼 한 사람이 이별을 겪으며 마주하는 미련과 후회에 젖은 추억, 그리고 혼란스러운 갈등 끝에 극복해 내는 그 복합적인 감정들을 멤버들 각자가 맡아 표현하며 홍콩이라는 이중적인 이미지의 도시에서 풀어냈다. 홍콩의 화려한 밤거리를 거닐고 있지만, 눈에 설핏 스치는 어쩔 수 없는 쓸쓸함은 보는 이까지 애달프게 만든다.

늦가을의 정취를 한껏 담아낸 [BLUE;S]
쌀쌀해진 날씨에 외롭고 차가운 마음을 어루만져줄 마마무의 따뜻한 온도가 기대된다.

오롯이 들려오는 마마무의 섬세한 목소리와 잔잔하게 들려오는 기타 사운드로 채워진 Intro는 가을에서 넘어가는 겨울 아침의 다사로운 햇살을 떠올리게 한다.

Track 2. No more drama
강렬하게 들려오는 마마무의 보컬과 긴장감 넘치는 비트가 만나 마치 한 편의 드라마를 연상하게 한다. 반복되는 ‘No more drama’라는 가사는 무의미한 관계를 이어나가고 있는 연인에게 던지는 통쾌한 하나의 경고 같은 곡이다.

Track 3. Wind flower (Title)
'Wind flower(아네모네)'는 '기다림', '이룰 수 없는 사랑'과 같이 ‘이별 후의 슬픈 감정’들을 뜻하는 꽃말을 가지고 있다. 그 의미에서부터 [BLUE;S]가 시작되었다. 사랑하는 연인과의 이별 후 느끼는 수많은 감정 중 아련하고 쓸쓸한, 그리고 아프지만 함께했던 기억들을 바람에 날려버리려는 의지를 가사에 담아냈다. 빈티지하면서도 감성적인 기타 리프 사운드와 차분한 듯하지만 흥미로운 흐름으로 진행되는 구성 속에 세련된 멜로디 라인이 귓가에 맴도는 인상적인 곡이다.
누구나 이별하고 아파하기 마련이다. 하지만 다시 피어날 꽃잎처럼 좋은 날은 돌아온다.

Track 4. HELLO (Solo 솔라)
마마무의 리더 솔라의 두 번째 자작곡. 본인에게도 굉장히 깊은 의미가 있다는 이 곡은 솔라가 문득 떠올린 ‘Hello, 다시, 우리’라는 가사에 멜로디를 붙여 완성되었다. 솔라의 섬세하고 애절한 음색이 돋보이는 곡이며, 1절과 2절이 서로 다른 입장에서 이야기하고 있는 독특한 구성으로 연인 간의 너무나 다른 감정선을 그리고 있다.

Track 5. 생각보단 괜찮아 (Better than I thought)
연인과 헤어진 후 다가올 아픔, 공허함, 쓸쓸함보다는 차분하고 평온하게, 그리고 담담하게 이별을 받아들이는 이야기이다. ONEWE의 ‘강현’이 함께한 기타 연주는 그의 풍부한 감성과 뛰어난 연주 실력으로 곡의 완성도를 높였고, 세련된 기타 사운드 위에 나오는 ‘Vox Chop’ 은 곡의 신선함을 더해준다.

사랑하는 사람과의 이별 후 혼자 맞는 아침에 느끼는 감정을 노래했다. 그리운 사람을 꿈에서 만나면 수많은 감정이 교차하고 온종일 함께 나눴던 추억과 후회에 젖는다. 부디 사라지지 않기를 바라며 다시 또 잠을 청하지만, 시간이 흘러 꿈에서조차 만날 수 없는 애달픔을 덤덤하게 표현한다. 몽환적인 피아노 연주와 스트링 사운드, 그리고 트렌디한 비트가 조화를 이루며 마마무만의 새로운 발라드 넘버가 완성되었다.
