Last year, IU, who colored the whole world with a 'good day', is finally back with her fans with a new album. IU's new album [Last Fantasy] is her first full-length album released two years after her first album [Growing up]. Producer Cho Young-chul focused on expressing IU's musicality by approaching it from more diverse aspects through this album.

The album title of the new album [Last Fantasy] has the meaning that IU, who is looking at the beginning of her 20s from the last moments of her teenage years, has drawn the thoughts, imaginations, and fantasies in her heart. It contains the meaning of expressing various desired images through songs. This regular 2nd album, which contains a total of 13 songs, draws attention with the participation of the best musicians and composers in Korea. Kim Kwang-jin, Yoon Sang, Jung Jae-hyung, Lee Jeok, Kim Hyung-seok, Jung Seok-won, Kim Hyun-cheol, Yoon Jong-shin, Lee Min-soo, Corinne Bailey Rae, G. Gorilla, Ra.

The title song of the 2nd regular album, 'You and I', is a collaboration between composer Lee Min-soo and lyricist Kim Ea-na, who created 'Good Day', and conveys IU's colorful sensibility and upgraded musicality. 'You and I' is a song that once again showcases the charm of IU's vocals, and has a mysterious and strange concept of a teenage girl going on a time travel and meeting a distant future. With a composition that crosses minor and major chords, the arrangement that conveys a variety and fantasy feeling of real sound using instruments that are rarely found in popular songs such as harp and horn stand out, and you can see IU's diversified vocal expressiveness.

지난 해, 온 세상을 ‘좋은 날’로 물들였던 아이유가 드디어 새 앨범을 들고 팬들 곁으로 돌아온다. 아이유의 새 앨범 [Last Fantasy]는 1집 [Growing up] 이후 2년 만에 선보이는 정규앨범으로, 이번 앨범은 지난 해 ‘아이유 신드롬’을 탄생시켰던 조영철 프로듀서가 총괄 프로듀싱을 맡았다. 조영철 프로듀서는 이번 앨범을 통해 아이유가 가지고 있는 음악성을 좀 더 다양한 측면으로 접근하여 표현해내는 것에 중점을 두었다.

새 앨범 [Last Fantasy]의 앨범 타이틀 뜻은 10대의 마지막 순간에서 20대의 시작을 바라보고 있는 아이유가 마음속에 품고 있는 생각, 상상, 환상 등을 앨범 속에 그려냈다는 의미를 가지고 있으며, 음악팬들이 아이유에게 바라는 다양한 모습들을 노래를 통해 다채롭게 담았다는 의미를 담고 있다. 총 13곡이 수록되어 있는 이번 정규 2집은 국내 최고의 뮤지션들과 작곡가들이 참여해 이목을 집중시킨다. 김광진, 윤상, 정재형, 이적, 김형석, 정석원, 김현철, 윤종신, 이민수, 코린 베일리 래, G.고릴라, Ra.D 등 더 이상 설명이 필요 없는 음악인들이 모두 이번 아이유의 정규 앨범에 선뜻 참여했다.

정규 2집의 타이틀곡인 ‘너랑 나’는 ‘좋은 날’을 탄생시켰던 이민수 작곡가-김이나 작사가의 합작품으로, 아이유의 다채로운 감성과 업그레이드된 음악성을 전한다. ‘너랑 나’는 아이유의 보컬이 가지고 있는 매력을 다시 한번 선보이는 곡으로, 10대 소녀가 시간 여행을 떠나 먼 미래를 만나고 온다는 신비롭고 기묘한 컨셉을 가지고 있다. 마이너와 메이저 코드를 넘나드는 구성으로 하프, 호른 등 가요에서 거의 찾아보기 힘든 악기를 사용한 리얼 사운드의 버라이어티하고 판타지스러운 느낌을 전하는 편곡이 돋보이며, 아이유의 다양해진 보컬 표현력을 만나볼 수 있다.
