VIXX 2016 CONCEPTION, the second story < Hades >

Last April, VIXX, who received a lot of love for their unique vivid colors through their 5th single album [Zelos], returned with [Hades], the second story of VIXX 2016 CONCEPTION.

VIXX 2016 CONCEPTION 'Cher', which VIXX will showcase throughout 2016, is a large-scale annual project that will consist of a total of three parts.

Through the keywords 'destiny' and 'destruction', it is a project that contains grandiose and diverse stories that have been unfolding for a year.
In the [Zelos] album released last April, with the motif of 'Zelos, the god of jealousy and competition', if the jealous feelings of a man who was deprived of love were reinterpreted and presented in VIXX's own vivid colors, this [Hades ] The album has a motif of 'Hades, the god of the dark world', and depicts a bizarre journey to the dark world to find a 'love potion' to win the heart of the woman he loves.

Through this album, VIXX plans to upgrade the darkness, which is the most representative color among VIXX's unique 'concept-dol' identities.

Following 'Evil Eye' from the previous [Zelos] album, the key item of this [Hades] album is the thorny vine. It symbolizes the rule of the dark world in which one can only obtain a love potion by shedding one's own blood through a thorny vine. The thorny vine appears as a keyword symbolizing the [Hades] album in music videos and jackets. The title song 'Fantasy' is a dark and conceptual melody with an impressive intro quoting Beethoven's Moonlight Sonata. Along with the screaming high notes of the chorus, the lyrics also express the desperation of six men longing for love in a sad yet dark atmosphere. You will be able to see an urban and sophisticated look that VIXX has not shown before. The choreography was first collaborated with famous foreign choreographers, Keone & Mariel Madrid. In addition to the dark and powerful feeling of VIXX that fits the concept of the [Hades] album, as well as the unique composition and movements that have not been shown before, we tried to change beyond the limits of VIXX.

Following the previous [Zelos] album, the music video I worked on with director Beom Jin of VM Project contains content about leaving the dark world to find a love potion in order to win the heart of the woman I love. As it is the album containing the most important and many stories among the annual project stories of 'Ker', it was focused on storytelling.

2016년 한 해 동안 빅스가 선보일 VIXX 2016 CONCEPTION ‘케르’는 총 3부작으로 이어지는 대형 연간 프로젝트이다.

‘운명’과 ‘파멸’이라는 키워드를 통해 1년간 펼쳐지고 있는 장대하고 다양한 스토리가 담겨있는 프로젝트이다.
지난 4월 발매된 [Zelos]앨범에서 ‘질투와 경쟁의 신, 젤로스’를 모티브로, 사랑을 빼앗긴 한 남자의 질투어린 감정을 빅스만의 비비드한 색감으로 재해석하여 선보였다면, 이번 [Hades] 앨범은 ‘암흑세계의 신, 하데스’를 모티브로 하여, 사랑하는 그녀의 마음을 얻기 위해 ‘사랑의 묘약’을 구하러 암흑세계로 찾아가는 기괴한 모습을 그리고 있다.

빅스는 이번 앨범을 통해 빅스만이 가지고 있는 ‘컨셉돌’이라는 아이덴티티 중 가장 빅스를 대표하는 색감인 다크함을 또다시 한 단계 업그레이드시켜 선보일 예정이다.

지난 [Zelos]앨범의 ‘Evil Eye’에 이어, 이번 [Hades] 앨범의 키 아이템은 바로 가시덩굴. 가시덩굴을 통해 자신의 피를 흘려야 사랑의 묘약을 얻을 수 있는 암흑세계의 룰을 상징하는 것으로, 이 과정을 거친 자는 손등에 ‘Evil Eye’의 표식이 생긴다는 스토리를 담고 있다. 가시덩굴은 뮤직비디오, 자켓 등에서 [Hades]앨범을 상징하는 키워드로 등장하게 된다. 타이틀곡 ‘Fantasy’는 베토벤의 월광소나타를 인용한 도입부 부분이 인상적인 어둡고 컨셉츄얼한 멜로디의 곡. 후렴구의 내지르는 고음과 함께 가사에서도 사랑을 갈구하는 여섯 남자의 절실함을 애절하면서도 다크한 분위기로 표현하였다. 그 동안 빅스가 보여주지 않았던 어반하고 세련된 모습을 볼 수 있을 것이다. 안무는 해외 유명 안무가 키오니&마리엘 마드리드(Keone&Mariel Madrid)와 첫 호흡을 맞추었다. [Hades]앨범의 컨셉에 맞는 빅스만의 어둡고 파워풀한 느낌은 물론, 기존에 보여주지 않았던 색다른 구성과 동작들까지 더해져 기존 빅스의 한계를 뛰어넘는 변화를 시도하였다.

지난 [Zelos] 앨범에 이어 VM Project 범진 감독과 함께 작업한 뮤직비디오에서는, 사랑하는 그녀의 마음을 얻기 위해 암흑세계로 떠나 사랑의 묘약을 찾아 다니는 내용을 담고 있다. ‘케르’ 연간 프로젝트 스토리 중 가장 중요하고 많은 이야기를 담고 있는 앨범인 만큼, 스토리텔링 위주로 진행되었다.

2016년VIXX의 ‘케르’ 프로젝트 그 두 번째 이야기 [Hades]. 여섯 남자의 광기 어린 간절함이 주는 애절하면서도 호러스러운 분위기는, 오직 빅스만이 보여줄 수 있는 다크한 모습의 모든 것을 상징하는 총집합체가 될 것이며, 1년 프로젝트의 대단원을 향해 나아가는 만큼 다음 앨범에 대한 기대감 또한 충족시킬 수 있을 것이다.
