Jazz pianist Youngjoo Song 10th regular album [Atmosphere]

Pianist Youngjoo Song has returned with a regular album. It has been 4 years since the 2018 piano solo album [Late Fall]. And with a new song album, it has been 8 years since [Between] in 2014. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Song Young-joo spent her own time in solitude and reflection in a music activity environment cut off from the outside world. These feelings were expressed and completed through the music of Gosrani.

Through her 10th album [Atmosphere], Youngjoo Song advances toward the completion of more delicate and emotional musical expressions as a representative jazz pianist in Korea, and presents an impression with deeper music. She danced alone, enjoyed solitude as a cherry blossom, and even in the time when everything stopped, her music did not know how to stop. The past, present, and thoughts of the future, which he looked back on himself, were added to the freedom of improvisation and the harmony between the performers.

In this album, longtime musical colleagues who stand at the center of New York jazz were together. Vicente Archer, who has been active in the Robert Glasper Trio on bass, Marcus Gilmore, who played in the Chick Korea Band and Pet Messini Trio, on drums, and John Ellis, who participated in the [Reflection] album, on tenor saxophone. (John Ellis) worked together once again to add strength to the work.

Through 10 new songs, including 'A New Beginning', which opens the album with a powerful sound, as well as the title song 'Atmosphere' and 'Dancing Alone', take a closer look at yourself and feel the Atmosphere that she has projected herself into. Hope to see you.

재즈 피아니스트 송영주 10번째 정규앨범 [Atmosphere]

피아니스트 송영주가 정규앨범으로 돌아왔다. 2018년 피아노 솔로 앨범 [Late Fall] 이후 4년 만이다. 그리고 새로운 신곡 앨범으로는 2014년 [Between] 이후 8년 만이다. 코로나동안 외부와 단절된 음악활동 환경 안에서 송영주는 자신만의 고독과 성찰의 시간을 보냈다. 이러한 마음들이 고스라니 음악으로 표현되고 완성됐다.

송영주는 10번째 앨범 [Atmosphere]를 통해서 대한민국을 대표하는 재즈 피아니스트로서 보다 섬세하고 감성적인 음악적 표현의 완성으로 나아가며, 더욱 깊어진 음악으로 감동을 선사한다. 홀로 춤을 추기도하고, 고독을 벚 삼아 즐기며, 모든 것이 정지한 시간 안에서도 그녀의 음악은 멈출 줄을 몰랐다. 스스로 돌아본 과거와 현재, 또 미래에 대한 생각들을 즉흥연주의 자유로움과 연주자들간의 조화로움을 더해 담아냈다.

이번 앨범에는 뉴욕 재즈의 중심에 서있는 오랜 음악적 동료 연주자들이 함께 했다. 베이스에는 로버트 글래스퍼 트리오에서 활동해오고 있는 비센테 아쳐(Vicente Archer)가, 드럼에는 칙 코리아 밴드와 펫 멧시니 트리오에서 연주한 마커스 길모어(Marcus Gilmore), 테너 색소폰에는 [Reflection] 음반에 참여했던 존 엘리스(John Ellis)가 다시 한 번 함께 호흡을 맞추며 작품에 힘을 더 했다.

힘찬 사운드로 앨범의 문을 여는 'A New Beginning'를 비롯해, 타이틀 곡 'Atmosphere', 'Dancing Alone' 등 신곡 10곡을 통해 스스로의 내면을 면밀히 들여다보고 그 자신을 투영해 놓은 그녀의 Atmosphere를 느껴 보시기를 바란다.
