바다가 데뷔 20주년을 맞이하여 팬들을 위한 감사 프로젝트를 진행한다. 그 중 [FLOWER]는 앞으로 펼쳐질 총 3번의 프로젝트 가운데 첫 번째 포문을 장식하는 앨범으로 기존 앨범에서는 볼 수 없었던 새로운 장르를 선택해 대중이 생각하는 파워풀하고 에너지 넘치는 바다의 이미지가 아닌 조금 힘을 뺀 감각적인 사운드를 만날 수 있다. 미니앨범 [FLOWER]는 타이틀곡 “Flower”를 비롯해 “Amazing”, “Make A Wish” 등 총 4곡이 수록됐다.

타이틀곡 “Flower”(작곡 1Take, Trinity / 작사 1Take, Trinity)의 프로듀싱은 최근 떠오르고 있는 음악 전문 레이블 NEWTYPE Ent.의 프로듀서 원택(1Take)이 맡았으며, 전 세계적으로 사랑받는 장르인 트로피컬 하우스를 가미한 일렉트로니컬 사운드로 무장했다. 특히 자신도 모르게 사랑에 빠져버린 여자의 설렘을 꽃에 비유해 그 심리를 섬세하게 표현하는 바다 특유의 감각적이고 사랑스러운 보이스를 만나 볼 수 있다.

또한 주목할 만한 것은 마지막 4번 트랙 “Flower” 리믹스 버전은 국내 최정상급 실력파 디제이 탁(DJ TAK)이 합세한 곡으로 세련되고 스타일리쉬한 감각을 느낄 수 있다. 서태지 크리스말로위 리믹스, 브랜뉴뮤직과의 매쉬업 콜라보 이후 여성아티스트와는 첫 콜라보레이션이며 원곡에서 느껴지는 K-POP + EDM X Tropical House 의 감성이 그만의 스타일로 재해석 되었다.

바다는 ‘이번 앨범 수록곡을 통해 삶의 설렘과 희망 그리고 무엇보다 진정성으로부터 오는 진정(眞情)을 전달하고 싶었다’고 밝혔다.
