팬들이 비춰준 환한 빛으로 인해 어둠 속에서 세상 밖으로 나올 수 있었던 JBJ는, 그로 인해 더는 흑백이 아닌 JBJ만의 빛깔로 아름답게 물들 수 있었다. 그리고 앨범명 [True Colors]가 지닌 <진짜, 진실>이란 사전적 의미에서도 알 수 있듯이, 이번 앨범은 팬들이 선사해준 그 JBJ의 '진정한 색'으로 온 세상을 물들여 JBJ의 진짜 모습을 보여주겠다는 마음이 고스란히 담겨 있다.

첫 번째 미니 앨범 [Fantasy]에선 몽환적이면서 진지한 환상 속의 모습을 그려냈다면, 이번 [True Colors]는 청량하면서도 쾌활한 JBJ의 모습을 가감 없이 풀어내어 새로운 매력을 발산하였다. 앨범 트레일러 영상에서 음원의 일부가 미리 공개되었던 앨범명과 동명인 1번 트랙 'True Colors'를 시작으로 6번 트랙 '매일'까지, 사랑의 시작, 불안함, 설렘, 그리움 등 누군가를 사랑함으로써 느낄 수 있는 다양한 감정들을 JBJ만의 색으로 순차적으로 풀어내 마치 한편의 소설책을 읽는 듯한 느낌마저 든다.

특히 팬들 덕분에 만개할 수 있었던 JBJ가 이제 함께 꽃이 되자고 이야기하는 타이틀곡 '꽃이야'는 마음속에서 점점 피어나는 상대방에 대한 설렘을 이야기한 곡이다. JBJ 멤버들의 개성 강한 보이스가 한껏 조화를 이루어 JBJ 특유의 청량미가 마음껏 발산되었다.
