첫 솔로 앨범 [She] 이후 16년 만에 발표하는 이번 강현민의 솔로 앨범은 지금까지 미발표된 그의 노래 200여 곡 중 5곡을 추려 완성한 것으로 ‘강현민의 목소리 만이 소화할 수 있는 감성’에 오롯이 집중하고 있다. 이번 앨범에 수록곡들은 이문세, 성시경, 박혜경, 박기영 등 국내 최고의 가수들의 앨범에 참여했던 베테랑 작곡가가 오로지 자신만을 위해 쓴 노래들이다.

‘반영된, 투영된’ 이라는 뜻을 가진 앨범명 ‘리플렉티브’는 강현민이 거울 앞에 서듯 자신의 내면을 가장 솔직하게, 있는 그대로 표현한 작품이라는 의미로 정했다.
