IZ's 3rd Single Album 'THE:IZ'

The band IZ is making a comeback with the 3rd single album 'THE:IZ'. The British pop rock genre 'The Day' was featured as the title song. The album name 'The Eyes' means 'Eyes that comes to mind when anyone thinks of it', and you can get a glimpse of Iizu's determination to gradually grow as a K-rock band.

Starting from the single album vol.1 'Re-Is', and going through the 2nd album 'From Eyes', we now want to show the potential of Eyes through steady music work and activities. By using 'THE', which is used to refer to something you already know, it contains the desire to become a K-rock representative band that comes to mind when you think of a band.

The title song 'The Day' is a British pop rock style that melts dreamy sensibility and sophisticated synth sound to enhance the song's completeness. Rather than sadness, the longing for someone was portrayed beautifully and brilliantly. We look forward to the birth of another masterpiece based on emotional rock with hopeful lyrics and delicate vocals.

Leaving an outro rather than an intro, it makes me more curious about what's next. 'See you' comforts a lonely and dreary day in the cold winter. It is composed of sweet vocals, calm yet faint guitar sounds, and piano melodies, expressing the sense of the season well in the music. In particular, the second half of the song was finished with humming, leaving a deep lingering feeling by filling in the blanks with emotions that could never be expressed through text.

밴드 아이즈가 싱글 3집 앨범 ‘THE:IZ(더아이즈)’로 컴백한다. 브리티시 팝 록 장르의 ‘The Day(더 데이)’를 타이틀곡으로 내세웠다. 앨범명 ‘더아이즈’는 ‘누구나 생각하면 떠오르는 아이즈’를 의미해 K록 밴드로서 차츰 성장해 온 아이즈의 각오를 엿볼 수 있다.

싱글 1집 ‘리아이즈’부터 시작해 2집 ‘프롬아이즈’를 거쳐 꾸준한 음악 작업과 활동을 통해 이제 아이즈의 잠재력을 보여주고자 한다. 이미 알고 있는 대상을 지칭할 때 쓰는 ‘THE(더)’를 활용해 밴드하면 생각나는 K록 대표 밴드가 되고 싶은 열망을 담았다.

타이틀곡 ‘The Day’는 브리티시 팝 록 스타일로 몽환적인 감성에 세련된 신스 사운드를 녹여 곡의 완성도를 높였다. 누군가를 향한 그리움을 슬픔보다는 아름답고 찬란하게 그려냈다. 희망적인 가사와 함께 섬세한 보컬이 더해져 또 하나의 감성 록을 기반한 명곡 탄생을 기대해 본다.

수록곡 ‘Superstition’은 모던 록 사운드로 산뜻하게 시작하는 도입부에 이어 강렬하고 웅장하게 펼쳐지는 코러스가 인상적인 얼터너티브 록 사운드로 전환돼 반전이 매력적인 곡이다. 사운드 뿐만 아니라 가사 또한 반전을 보여준다. 아무리 밀어내도 운명처럼 끌리는 상대를 만나 변해가는 나의 모습을 통해 내일을 설레게 하는 드라마적 요소가 눈에 띈다.

Intro(인트로)가 아닌 Outro(아웃트로)를 남기며 다음을 더 궁금하게 한다. ‘See you’는 추운 겨울 외롭고 쓸쓸한 하루를 위로해준다. 감미로운 보컬과 잔잔하면서도 아련한 기타 사운드, 피아노 선율로 이뤄져 음악 속 계절감을 잘 표현했다. 특히 곡 후반부를 허밍으로 마무리하며 텍스트로는 결코 표현할 수 없는 감정을 공백으로 채워 짙은 여운을 남겼다.
