'OOO' EP [GARDEN]

hello. It is OOO. This EP [GARDEN] is an album prepared since September of last year. We didn't know that it would be this long, but we started like this because we thought it would be better to directly say what we thought while working on the album for a long time.

[GARDEN] is composed of songs that were created naturally by repeating performances and ensembles since the release of the last EP [HOME]. If the previous album, [HOME], focused on accepting each other as they are, [GARDEN] is an album in which we coordinated a lot of opinions and tried new things little by little.

In fact, [HOME] - [CLOSET] - [GARDEN] are albums that lead to 'a gloomy individual life'. I'm talking about someone for whom loneliness is a daily routine. There is a destination for 'someone' who is listening to this album, the creators of this album, and myself. From HOME, where you wanted to leave, to CLOSET, where you make your final preparations before leaving. And it came out of the house, but it was not completely outside, a space that could not be called inside or outside, a step forward to GARDEN on the border. 'Someone' is heading somewhere.

While working on this album, we realized that we weren't trying to deviate too much from our previous works. It's not that I'm not going to develop musically or grow as a human being, I just felt that I couldn't escape from something. I wanted to keep that feeling intact, and that's why [GARDEN] was chosen as the album title.

Of course, there are also differences. 'Someone' is still clumsy in revealing itself, but it's a little more emotionally bold than the previous work, and it's revealed in the lyrics and performance. [HOME] and [GARDEN] have successive songs (Lie-or Truth, When Eyes Meet-Night and Heart, Sleep-Why I Am, Sand-Star), each of which talks about the same theme but is a little deeper, more active, I am talking directly. [HOME] is daytime and [GARDEN] is nighttime, respectively, and we think it will be a little more fun to listen to with this in mind.

With this album, we're trying to open the door and step out the door. Maybe it's already gone, I don't know. In fact, starting with “Tomorrow Morning,” “Blue Moon,” “Star,” and “Your Yesterday, My Today,” which are placed in the second half of the album, are stories after leaving the door. Through these songs, I think you can guess the music we are heading for in the next full-length album.

We wanted to make an album that everyone could enjoy listening to. There was no gender in the lyrics and no English or foreign words were used. I wanted to sing in simple words, and I wanted to fill it with sentences like everyday life. It seems that it will continue to be so in the future. I hope everyone who listens to this album can feel this heart.

'O.O.O' EP [GARDEN]

안녕하세요. O.O.O입니다. 이번 EP [GARDEN]은 지난해 9월부터 준비한 앨범입니다. 이렇게 길어질 줄은 저희도 몰랐지만, 긴 시간 동안 앨범 작업을 하며 생각한 말들을 직접 하는 것이 좋을 것 같아 이렇게 시작합니다.

[GARDEN]은 지난 EP [HOME]을 발매한 이후로 공연과 합주를 반복하며 자연스럽게 만들어진 곡들로 구성되어 있습니다. 전작인 [HOME]은 서로의 것을 있는 그대로 받아들이는 데에 집중했다면 [GARDEN]은 그에 비해 서로간의 의견 조율이 많았던, 그리고 조금씩 새로운 것들을 시도한 앨범입니다.

사실 [HOME] - [CLOSET] - [GARDEN]은 ‘어느 우울한 개인의 삶’으로 이어지는 앨범입니다. 외로움이 일상인 누군가에 대해 이야기하고 있습니다. 이 앨범을 듣는 당신이기도 이 앨범을 만든 저희들 나 자신이기도 한 '누군가'는 행선지가 있습니다. 떠나고 싶은 곳이었던 HOME에서부터 떠나기 전 마지막 준비를 하는 곳 CLOSET. 그리고 집 밖으로 나왔으나 완전한 밖은 아닌, 안이라고도 밖이라고도 할 수 없는 공간, 그 경계에 있는 GARDEN까지 한걸음 나왔습니다. '누군가'는 어디론가 향하고 있습니다.

이번 앨범을 작업하면서 저희는 우리가 이전 작품들에서 크게 벗어나지 않으려 하고 있다는 것을 깨달았습니다. 음악적인 발전이나 인간으로서의 성장을 하지 않겠다는 것이 아니라 그저 무언가에서 벗어나지 못하고 있다는 느낌이 들었습니다. 그 느낌을 그대로 살려두고 싶었고 이것이 앨범 제목으로 [GARDEN]이 된 이유입니다.

물론 차이도 있습니다. 아직 '누군가'는 스스로를 드러내는 것에 서툴지만 전작보다는 조금 더 감정적으로 과감해졌고, 가사와 연주에서도 드러나고 있습니다. [HOME]과 [GARDEN]은 이어지는 곡들(거짓말-혹은 진실, 눈이 마주쳤을 때-밤과 마음, 잔-나는 왜, 모래-별)이 있는데 각각 같은 주제를 이야기하면서도 조금 더 깊고, 능동적이고, 직접적인 이야기를 하고 있습니다. 저희는 이렇게 닮은 듯 다른 두 앨범이 각각 [HOME]은 낮을, [GARDEN]은 밤을 그리고 있는데 이 점을 생각하고 듣는다면 조금 더 재밌는 감상이 될 것 같습니다.

이 앨범을 통해 저희는 대문을 열고 문 밖으로 나서려 합니다. 어쩌면 이미 나섰는지도 모르겠습니다. 사실 "내일 아침"을 시작으로 앨범의 후반부에 배치된 "푸른달", "별", "너의 어젠, 나의 오늘"은 문 밖을 나선 뒤의 이야기입니다. 이 곡들을 통해 다음이 될 정규 앨범에서 저희가 향하는 음악을 짐작할 수 있으리라 생각합니다.

저희는 모두가 듣기 편한 앨범을 만들고 싶었습니다. 노랫말에 성별을 넣지 않았고 영어나 외래어를 사용하지 않았습니다. 쉬운 말로 노래하고 싶었고, 일상생활과 같은 문장들로 채우고 싶었습니다. 앞으로도 계속 그럴 것 같습니다. 이 마음이 이 앨범을 듣고 있는 여러분도 느낄 수 있기를 바랍니다.
