The heart of the song and the feelings of belated regret are captured in the emotional lyrics.
The warm piano melody that gives off the feeling of a scene in a sad movie and the trendy band sound with a medium tempo captivate the ears, and Astro's refreshing vocals are added to further enhance the perfection of the song.
Astro's special album 'Winter Dream', in addition to the title song 'You Should've Caught', was written by all Astro's members, including 'Cotton Candy', which compares the snow falling in winter to cotton candy to make your lover happy. ‘청량돌’ 아스트로가 봄, 여름, 가을 앨범에 이은 겨울 스페셜 앨범 '윈터 드림(Winter Dream)’으로 다시 돌아왔다.
이번 앨범의 타이틀곡 '붙잡았어야 해'는 GOT7의 ‘FLY’, 아이오아이의 ‘사랑해 기억해’ 등을 프로듀싱한 작곡가 오브로스(OBROS)와 김좌영이 공동 작업한 곡으로 헤어진 연인과의 추억을 회상하는 마음과 뒤늦은 후회의 감정을 감성적인 가사로 담아냈다.
슬픈 영화 속 한 장면의 느낌을 주는 따뜻한 피아노 선율과 미디움 템포의 트렌디한 밴드사운드가 귀를 사로 잡고 있으며, 여기에 아스트로만의 청량한 보컬이 더해져 곡의 완성도를 더욱 높였다.
아스트로의 스페셜 앨범 ‘윈터 드림’은 타이틀곡 ‘붙잡았어야 해’ 외에도 겨울에 내리는 눈을 솜사탕으로 비유하여 사랑하는 연인을 기쁘게 해주겠다는 내용의 ‘코튼 캔디(Cotton Candy)’, 아스트로의 모든 멤버가 작사에 참여하여 1주년을 함께하는 아로하를 향한 고마움의 메세지를 담은 팬송 ‘유앤미(You & Me)’ 등 총 3트랙으로 구성됐다.
