The band idol 'Marmello', who has accumulated experience since the Hongdae indie scene, will release the EP album 'Wake Me Up' on March 9th.

Marmello, a band made up of 21-year-old friends of the same age, was formed in 2015 by middle and high school friends with a bold ambition to 'seduce the audience' after taking its name from a flower that has the flower language of 'temptation'. After going through the first single PUPPET and the second single 'Can't Stop', a self-composed song, the quince, which has returned to a level of evolution both stylistically and musically, has been performing at Thailand's Big Mountain Music Festival, Busan International Rock Festival, Let's Through various music festivals such as the Rock Festival and live club performances in Hongdae, he has built up solid live skills.

This EP album was conceived from the name of the group named after a flower, and the retro and member-specific flowers were the themes. Girl crush Hyuna is RED POPPY, Yuna who always shouts rock and roll is PURPLE LOTUS, Doeun who is good at acting and is always bright is Yellow Pansy, and Gaeun who has charisma and charisma like Cha Do-nyeo is Black. Rose (BLACK ROSE), Da-eun, who combines eccentricity and liveliness, took the concept of ORANGE LANTANA. On stage, he will delight the audience with his charisma that captivates the audience through over 100 live performances, and off the stage, he will take one step closer to fans with his friendliness and liveliness among friends of the same age.

The title song 'Wake Me Up' is a song with an earnest message to wake me up from repeated and meaningless days. A-peace's 'Ur my life', 'I love you', and Huh Gak's ' This song was created by the composer team who composed the songs such as 'When the Wind Blows'. Starting with keyboard player Daeun's impressive piano line, this song adds a quince band performance under a lively and upbeat rhythm to give you a trendy and refreshing rock sound. The music video was filmed by Johnny Bros' director Hong Won-ki, and the profile picture was taken by Hwang Mi-na, head of Base M Studio.

홍대 인디씬에서부터 내공을 쌓아온 밴드돌 ‘마르멜로’가 3월 9일 EP앨범 ‘Wake Me Up’을 발매한다.

만 21세 동갑내기 친구들로 이루어진 밴드 마르멜로는 ‘유혹’이라는 꽃말을 가진 꽃에서 그 이름을 따 ‘관객들을 유혹하겠다’는 당찬 포부로 2015년 중고등학교 친구들끼리 결성되었다. 첫 번째 싱글 PUPPET과 자작곡인 두 번째 싱글 ‘Can’t Stop’을 거치면서 스타일적으로나 음악적으로나 한 단계 진화한 모습으로 돌아온 마르멜로는 데뷔 전부터 지금까지 태국 Big Mountain Music Festival, 부산국제록페스티벌, 렛츠락페스티벌 등 다양한 음악 페스티벌과 홍대 라이브 클럽 공연을 통해 탄탄한 라이브 실력을 쌓아왔다.

이번 EP 앨범은 꽃의 이름을 딴 그룹의 이름에서 착안하여 레트로와 멤버별 꽃을 테마로 잡아 작업을 진행하였다. 걸크러쉬 현아는 빨간 양귀비(RED POPPY), 항상 락앤롤을 외치는 유나는 보라색 연꽃(PURPLE LOTUS), 애교에 능하고 항상 밝은 도은은 노란색 팬지 (YELLOW PANSY), 차도녀같은 시크함과 카리스마를 가진 가은은 블랙 로즈(BLACK ROSE), 엉뚱함과 발랄함을 겸비한 다은은 오렌지 란타나(ORANGE LANTANA)를 컨셉으로 잡았다. 무대에서는 100회가 넘는 라이브 공연을 통해 만들어진 관객을 휘어잡는 카리스마로 관객들의 눈을 즐겁게 해 줄 것이며, 무대 밖에서는 동갑내기 친구들끼리의 친근감과 발랄함으로 팬들에 한 발자국 더 다가갈 것이다.

타이틀곡 ‘Wake Me Up’은 반복되고 무의미한 나날 속에 지친 나를 깨워달라는 간절한 메세지가 담긴 곡으로 오리콘 차트 주간 싱글 차트 13위에도 올랐던 A-peace 의 ‘Ur my life’, ‘I love you’, 허각의 ‘그 바람 불면’ 등을 작곡한 작곡가팀 해결사가 만든 곡이다. 건반 주자 다은의 인상적인 피아노 라인으로 시작하는 이 곡은 발랄하고 경쾌한 리듬 아래 마르멜로의 밴드 연주가 가미되어 트렌디하고 시원한 록 사운드를 느낄 수 있다. 뮤직비디오 촬영은 쟈니브로스의 홍원기 감독이 직접 메가폰을 잡고, 프로필 사진 촬영은 Base M 스튜디오의 황미나 실장이 맡았다.

여성 밴드가 부족했던 음악 시장에서, 마르멜로는 기존에 없던 스타일로 국내 뿐만 아니라 해외에도 새로운 바람을 불러일으킬 것이다.
